Europe has been busy with implementation of responsible gambling for the last several years. The UK Gambling Commission makes arrangement in this direction too with applying the necessary changes to gambling legislation. It becomes stricter with gambling operators and focuses the attention of the public that they must play responsibly due to the existing laws and regulations.
A general survey held in 2014 found out some weak aspects that can be corrected by the gambling industry. So, gambling providers were proposed to assist in correcting the checked version of Licensing Conditions and Codes of Practice.
The revised legislation will be open to public in spring, but it is already known that in its center is “social responsibility.” The Chairperson of the UK Gambling Commission Philip Graph pointed out that thanks to the review, they have drastically strengthen the idea of social responsibility in the new Licensing Conditions and Codes of Practice. But they have also realized that one of the urgent steps is to get rid of illegal cash gambling in land-based institutions.
A successful Swedish model was taken as an example, says Philip Graph. The Commission made all licensed bookmakers provide candid conditions and support to gamblers 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It has also improved protection so that children under 18 can’t open the account for gambling and the support will be offered to those players who have some addictive problems. The quality of ads will be under the control as well.
The new regulation will certainly affect the purse of gambling operators of online casinos, but they will do everything possible that the major part of costs will be paid by gamblers.
