“99% of players in this tournament were more experienced than me.”

Lipszyc was one of the four Israelis on the final table (this happened for the first time). The remaining five finalists represented the countries of Scandinavia.

Incredibly, but for Lipszyc it was only the second live tournament in his life – the first was the satellite in the main event that he won in Israel:

“I came here without a penny in my pocket. I barely had enough money for breakfast. “

The final table lasted five hours during which Lipszyc had a feeling that his soul left his body, giving way to the spirit of Daniel Negreanu:

“I think Negreanu moved into my body and played for me.”

Nadav Patrick Lipsyc became officially the sixth champion of Battle for Malta 2017!
